Cadillac Stacker

Though most Europeans aren't too much a fan of American automobile engineering, there are few who can argue that Cadillac is synonymous with luxury. After all, it was the world's original luxury line - and its emblem has stood for quality craftsmanship since its inception.
No wonder, then, why someone might like his computer to be reflective of such achievements - raw power and cushy luxury rolled together in a big, wide frame...one with some nice, big bling down the front. One like...an original Cooler Master Stacker, known to be one of the industry's best large cases.
A -Stacker, a sense of luxury and a whole lot of time and talent is exactly what skunkmonkey brought to our forums - and it's probably one of the smoothest mods around.
The original mesh front of the Stacker was completely forsaken, traded in for a front that skunkmonkey created himself. That front was then cut to give a nice automotive grille feel before being painted a royal purple and clear-coated until it shined. One Cadillac nameplate and some mesh later, and we were looking at a great front-end.
Keeping with the theme, skunkmonkey painted up the left side-panel and applied an authentic emblem bought off of eBay. For the right side, a window was needed - and so the emblem was then etched into the back of some smoke-coloured plexi.
Of course, the Stacker doesn't come with a window pre-built, so a bit of modification is necessary. A jigsaw and a bit of bondo later, and the mount for the window was ready. All that was needed was another coat of the royal purple paint.
All Cadillacs are decked out with leather, so what good would a mod be that wasn't? Skunkmonkey planned this out beautifully with some leatherette cloth, upholstering the inside of his case to cover over some of the watercooling equipment. Of course, this was also a great opportunity for another window, again with a proper emblem on it.
The end result is a plush tan interior on a white frame, which looks absolutely gorgeous. I'm not sure if we're allowed to say "big pimpin' ", but let's be honest...it's kind of hard not to.
And as a bit of a teaser, here's a shot of what eventually happened with the top - but if you want to know more, you'll have to roll into his
worklog. You'll be glad you did.
If you think this mod should win this month's competition, don't forget to vote for it in this thread! Voting closes on 9th September 2007.
